Title: President/CEO, Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing

Organization: Develops, owns, operates and advocates for affordable housing in Arlington and provides programs and services for residents like financial literacy, wellness and community engagement. Portfolio is worth $200M with 14 properties, 1,200 apartments. Goal is to add 100 units per year.

Affordable housing shortage: Since 2000, Arlington has had a net loss of 13,500 affordable rental homes; in 2000, 27% of housing in Arlington was affordable and today it’s 9%.

Annual revenue: $4M.

Memorable Project: Arlington Mill – opened a year ago on Columbia Pike. Arlington County built five-story community center and underground parking garage on 2-acre site and APAH built 122 apartments above the back of the county garage. Project cost $32M and came in below budget and on time.

Current project: Turning surface parking lot at older garden apartment complex into 229 apartments. Going through county approvals and set to start Q1 2016.
