35 for 35: New Year, New Board Leadership
Rich Jordan, APAH’s 2024 board chair, brings a strong commitment to service and experienced leadership. Rich has been part of APAH’s regional expansion and renewed focus since joining the board in 2016. “It’s an honor to be involved with and to contribute my experience to such an innovative and motivated group of individuals focused on affordable housing, especially at a time of growth and transition,” he notes. “APAH’s progress continues to exceed expectations.”
Prior to serving as the board chair, Rich led APAH’s Finance Committee and chaired the capital campaign for Terwilliger Place, APAH’s project with American Legion Post 139. These roles were a natural fit for Rich, who is managing director for Potomac Investment Properties and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Having served as a Naval Flight Officer, Rich personally connected with donors who supported an innovative, new affordable housing community with a veteran preference, the first of its kind in the region. Under his leadership, the campaign raised more than $4 million.
Rich is energized by APAH’s ongoing commitment to racial equity and resident-centered programming. “APAH continues to focus on resident-centered initiatives that will best serve the residents’ needs and the surrounding community. Soliciting feedback from and listening to residents will provide the APAH board and staff with a strong foundation to serve residents while also earning their trust. I think this work will help residents feel that they are being heard and are part of the solution…” he says.
Rich, his wife Wendy, and their three children call the Barcroft neighborhood in Arlington home. APAH is thankful for Rich’s thoughtful leadership and dedication to our mission. We look forward to building and sustaining a healthy region together in which all residents can thrive!
