Members of Arlington Cadette Troop 5656 have been working with the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) on a series of programs. The partnership began last winter, when troop members collected items for a holiday store for families of APAH properties. In March, cadette members held a “Spring Closet” at Arlington Mill Residences, allowing APAH family members to select items while their children were supervised by cadette members.

Members of Cadette Troop 5656 are hoping to continue their relationship with APAH by establishing a Daisy Girl Scout troop for elementary-age girls at one of the housing organization’s sites this fall.

“It’s exciting to see Girl Scout Troop #5656 become involved with APAH residents,” said Noral Lopez, a resident-services coordinator for the housing provider. “I hope this will be a long-running partnership, since it has benefits to both the cadettes and APAH residents.”
